9th Grade Lit and Comp: Tuesday, March 24, 2020

Good morning! Thank you to everyone who filled out the check-in form yesterday - it was good to hear from you about how you are doing! 😊

Remember this is something new for all of us, and I want to remind you again, that you are doing an amazing job!

As always, please remember to reach out to me directly if you have any personal worries or concerns about the assignments for this class. I know that working at home can be a rougher transition for some people than it is for others (I certainly am having my own troubles with staying focused 😅), so remember, while you should try to have your work done by the due dates posted on the blog, I will be extremely accommodating and flexible as we go through this virtual learning journey together - just keep me in the loop!

In yesterday's blog post, I introduced the Muti-Genre Project in two pretty detailed videos, please go back and watch them, if you haven't already. Today's video is a lot shorter as I will just be introducing the genre piece that you should be working on today.

**Please note: I will not be doing progress checks everyday, but I have broken the project down into manageable pieces that you should be able to complete the day they are assigned. It is in your best interest to stay on top of the assigned work and not leave the entire project for last minute.**

Today's Genre Piece:
  • Journal Entry: Write a journal/diary entry from the point of view of a character from the play, using 1st person pronouns. You should reference specific information from the play and have your character explain their personal thoughts and feelings on what's going on in their life. You can write one long entry or two shorter entries (if you are writing two shorter entries, they need to be from the point of view of the SAME character), but your word count for this genre piece needs to be between 300-450 words.

**Remember: Each genre piece must reference specific characters, events/scenes, and at least two quotes from Romeo and Juliet.**

What's Due Today:
  • Continue working on your Multi-Genre Project
    • Work on Genre Piece 2- Journal Entry
