January 20-24: 9th Grade Lit and Comp

This Week: This week, we are going to take a look at Greek Mythology by reading, retelling, and presenting Greek myths.

Monday, January 20:

• No school - MLK Holiday

Tuesday, January 21:

• Finish watching Myths and Monsters documentary
• Greek Mythology Storytelling Presentation
• Due Friday, January 24 at the BEGINNING of class.
• Sign up for myths
• Read myth

Wednesday, January 22:

• Let the Die Decide Poem due at BEGINNING OF CLASS
• Work on Greek Myth Storytelling Presentation
• Ms. Egbert's example
• Plot out story on plot chart
• Begin retelling myth
• Begin working on PowerPoint

Thursday, January 23:

• Work on Greek Myth Storytelling Presentation
• Continue retelling myth
• Continue working on PowerPoint
• Share group PowerPoint with Ms. Egbert by the end of class
• You can still add to and edit your presentation after you have shared it with me. This just makes sure that I have it ready to go on Friday.

Friday, January 24:

• Greek Myth Storytelling Presentation Day
• You will present your myth to the class!
• Bring food and dress up for extra credit!

Next Week:

Next week, we are going to dive into the story of Odysseus in The Odyssey and begin tracking how his adventure follows the Hero's Journey. We will also work on Unit 10 vocab, with a vocab quiz on Friday.
