October 8-12: 9th Lit and Comp

This Week: This week we begin reading To Kill a Mockingbird. Please make sure to have your copy of the book with you in class EVERYDAY. All reading will be done in class. However, if you are absent, it is your responsibility to keep up with the pages read in class on the day(s) you are out. I will attempt to keep this blog up to date daily.

Monday, October 8:
  • SAT Practice Questions
  • Expectations and Annotations for Reading
  • Begin reading To Kill a Mockingbird
    • 1st Period: Chapter 1 - "Then he jumped, landed unhurt, and his sense of responsibility left him until confronted by the Radley Place" (15)
    • 2nd Period: Chapter 1 - "He liked Maycomb, he was Maycomb County born and bred; he knew his people, they knew him, and because of Simon Finch's industry, Atticus was related by blood or marriage to nearly every family in the town." (5)
