October 15-19: 9th Lit and Comp

This Week: This week we continue reading To Kill a Mockingbird. Please make sure to have your copy of the book with you in class EVERYDAY. All reading will be done in class. However, if you are absent, it is your responsibility to keep up with the pages read in class on the day(s) you are out. I will attempt to keep this blog up to date daily. Throughout the week, we will also work on Unit 5 vocabulary with a vocab quiz on Friday.

    • 1st and 2nd Periods: Chapter 8
Thursday, October 18:
  • Vocab Practice: Completing the Sentence
  • Continue reading To Kill a Mockingbird
    • 1st and 2nd Periods: Chapter 9
Friday, October 19:
  • Unit 5 Vocab Quiz
  • Work on annotations after quiz
  • ANNOTATION CHECK TODAY
    • Make sure your name is on your book
    • What I am looking for:
      • Chapter summaries and 1-2 questions for each chapter
        • Chapters 6 - 9
      • Characters and initial thoughts on inside front cover
        • Atticus Finch
        • Boo Radley
      • Highlighted and/or underlined words/passages with written notes in the margin/on sticky notes
  • Turn in books for annotation check at the end of class
