September 17-21: 10th Grade World Lit

This Week: We will start off this week with a review of short story terms for our Archetype Test on Tuesday. After the test, students will use this week to continue work Hero's Journey Narrative Assignment that are due on Friday, September 21.

After Fall Break, we will begin reading Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Students should have a copy of the book by October 1 (the Monday after Fall Break). Copies can typically be found at used bookstores for around, or under, $5. If there is a financial issue that prevents you from getting a copy of the book, please let me know and we can make arrangements.

If you have already read Fahrenheit 451 and would like to read 1984 by George Orwell as an independent reading option, please let me know by Wednesday, September 19.

This Week: We will start off this week by continuing to read and analyze the last text in our Archetypes unit, Don Quixote, on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. The Unit 3 Vocab Quiz will be on Thursday, and we will finish out the week with the into to the Hero's Journey Narrative Assignment on Friday.
