September 10-14: 9th Grade Literature & Composition

This Week: We will start off this week by reading and analyzing one final story for our short story unit on Monday and Tuesday. On Wednesday, we will complete Touchstone #1. We will finish the week with the Unit 3 Vocab Quiz on Thursday and the intro to the Short Story Narrative Assignment on Friday.

Monday, September 10:

• Vocab Unit 3: Intro words
• Start reading "There Will Come Soft Rains"
• Storyboard Assignment

Tuesday, September 11:

• Vocab Practice: Choosing the Right Word
• Continue reading "There Will Come Soft Rains"
• Reading Guide
• Finish Storyboard Assignment (DUE Wednesday)

Wednesday, September 12:

• Vocab Unit 3 Homework DUE
• Write 10 original sentences using 10 vocab words from Unit 3.
• Touchstone #1
• Vocab Practice (if time): Completing the Sentence Kahoot

Thursday, September 13:

• Unit 3 Vocab Quiz

Friday, September 14:

• Intro Short Story Narrative Assignment (DUE Friday, September 21)
• Start reviewing the notes you took on Short Stories at the beginning of this unit. This is your study guide for the test. The note sheet and PowerPoint can be found here.

Next Week:

We will wrap up our Short Story Unit with a test on Tuesday and will spend the rest of the week working on drafting and writing original short stories.
