November 12-16: 10th Grade World Lit

This Week: This week we finish our unit on Fahrenheit 451. Please make sure to have your copy of the book with you in class EVERYDAY.

  • Work on Fahrenheit 451 mini-project
  • Fahrenheit 451 mini-project DUE at the END of class
    Wednesday, November 14:
    • Fahrenheit 451 and dystopia Test
    • Turn in books for annotation check today
      • Make sure your name is on your book.
      • Chapter summaries (3 to 4 sentences) for Chapters 8 and 9
        • Chapter 8: "Lights flicked on and house doors opened all down the street, to watch the carnival set up." (107) to "He ran very fast away from the house, down toward the river." (130)
        • Chapter 9: "Montag ran." (130) to "When we reach the city." (158)
      • Chapter questions (2-3 questions) for Chapters 8 and 9
      • Character descriptions for Granger
      • Additional highlights and margin notes
    • Guided reading due
    Thursday, November 15:
    • Fahrenheit 451 term paper DUE THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 29
    • Begin brainstorming and drafting Fahrenheit 451 term paper
    • Write thesis statement
