August 26-30: 10th Grade World Lit

This Week: This week, we will compare and contrast the flood stories that we read last week and look at and analyze archetypes in film. The Unit 2 Vocab quiz is this Friday, August 30.

If you purchased a vocab book, I gave you a purple sheet with your account information for the online resources. This is a wonderful resource to use to study vocab words, and I will also be using it to assign vocab homework (Choosing the Right Word and Completing the Sentence) for each unit. For this unit, please do the homework assignments online - they are due by Friday, August 30 at 8:20 AM. If you have problems accessing the online book, please email me or contact me through Remind, and do the homework in the book and turn your book at the beginning of class before the quiz on Friday.

**Please keep track of your reading guides for all the stories we read this unit - they will be due on the day of the test (currently scheduled for Tuesday, September 17, but subject to change). If you need an extra, all assignments are linked on this blog and there are a limited supply of extras in the black binder labeled for your class in my room.**

• Graphic Organizer (on the back of Genesis reading questions) (due at the end of class)
• Comic Strips (due Friday, after vocab quiz)
• Work on Unit 2 Vocab Homework

Tuesday, August 27:

• 2-paragraph constructed response (due at the end of class)
• Work on Unit 2 Vocab Homework

Wednesday, August 28:

• We will not meet today due to Early Release
• Continue working on Unit 2 vocab and studying for your quiz on Friday.

• Watch Princess Mononoke
• Discussion Questions

Friday, August 30:

• Online homework due by 8:20 AM, physical books and flashcards due when quiz starts
• Unit 2 Vocab Quiz
• Gilgamesh and Genesis comic strips due by the end of class

Next Week:

We will wrap up watching Princess Mononoke and have a discussion about archetypes in movies/popular media. We will begin reading our next story.
