August 6-10: 10th Grade World Literature

This week: Thank you for a great start to the year! Be sure to have your vocab book in class on Monday - we will learn the words on Monday and complete the exercises in Unit 1 throughout the week. There will be a quiz over Unit 1 words on Friday. After our vocab activities on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, you will have an opportunity to work on your summer reading assignments, so be sure to bring your copy of The Lord of the Flies this week.

If you haven't already turned in your signed syllabus, it is due Wednesday, August 8.

Monday, August 6:

• Unit 1 Vocab: Review words and definitions on pages 14-16. Read and summarize the narrative on pages 12-13
• Summer Reading - The Lord of the Flies: Finish reading, compiling assignments for the checklist, and completing the THREE supplementary assignments

Tuesday, August 7:

• Unit 1 Vocab: Choosing the Right Word on pages 17-18
• Summer Reading - The Lord of the Flies: Finish reading, compiling assignments for the checklist, and completing the THREE supplementary assignments

Wednesday, August 8:

• Unit 1 Vocab: Synonyms and Antonyms on pages 18-19
• Summer Reading - The Lord of the Flies: Finish reading, compiling assignments for the checklist, and completing the THREE supplementary assignments 

Thursday, August 9:

• Unit 1 Vocab: Completing the Sentence on pages 19-20
• Summer Reading - The Lord of the Flies: Finish reading, compiling assignments for the checklist, and completing the THREE supplementary assignments

Friday, August 10:

• Turn in summer reading assignments.
• Unit 1 vocab quiz - turn in flash cards for extra credit
